IACT Banners

Where else do you launch a new website to your members, but at your Annual Dinner. Each year the IACT meet for the annual get together where the current president gets to address his fellow members. After going through the difficult process of updating their identity (no easy task when you need to modernise a crest) the IACT wanted to show the members the new identity whilst also informing them of the new website.

The background colours were chosen to compliment the various other elements that have gone through a process of change. The simple design was chosen to create a backdrop that can be used for photographs while still allowing the new identity and web address to be visible.

AGI Barcelona 2011

The boys hit the beach in October!!

Apart from having to drag ourselves all the way over to Barcelona to 28 degree heat and then having to drag ourselves down for a swim in the Mediterranean Sea we did actually manage to get to the 2nd annual AGI Conference . . . and boy were we glad!! Out of the 27 speakers from the top eschelons of the design industry both Noel and myself can honestly say there were only two to three that didn’t meet our expectations!

Over the two days the people we were most impressed with were: Michael BierutChip KiddAngus HylandMarion Deuchars and Paula Scher who each in their own inevitable way showed us just how far and effectively you can take good design. I was a pleasure to listen to them speak and we can honestly say we left the sunny climate rejuvenated and full of gusto for the dark evenings ahead.

The Helix

Visit Site

Since it’s opening in 2002 by President Mary McAleese, The Helix has generated an impressive reputation for staging cutting edge and diverse theatre and music.

The Helix is the natural choice for Conferencing for its proximity to the city centre and the airport, the breathtaking building, its four amazing venues, in-house technical team, catering and bar facilities, audio visual services, wifi and telephone access, ample parking and experienced events management team.

So why the need for a change?
Over the past decade there have been a lot of technological changes and advances in the online arena and The Helix felt it was time to bring their organisation back up to speed so it could offer the public a more diverse service offering whilst being aware of the power of Social Media. They also wanted a platform that they could grow into over the next decade that would highlight their diversity.

evolve evolved
Once we had gone through our process of developing the site map for the new site the client then had a total buy in and could see how the new site would develop. We basically evolved the old site into a more dynamic site that made it easier for The Helix to operate on a day to day basis.

Double the fun!
Only a month after the new site was launched we had a happy customer on to say their number of bookings through the site had almost doubled, not a bad return on their initial investment!

Nolan’s: The Family Grocer

Visit Site

Paddy Nolan started out in Clontarf in 1954 as a local convenience store. In those days a bag of sugar would have cost a half penny and a shilling would cover most of your grocery expenses. You could also have expected a very personal level of service where your grocer would greet you with a smile and you were assured of quality and value together with a real sense of community. Believe it or not, that self same service still exists today and that’s what pushes Paddy’s son, Richard to maintain that feeling of a good community store.

How do I make a web presence work for me?
This was the question Nolans put to us over a cup of coffee one morning during the summer. Realising that over the last couple of years the age profile of the community was changing, there is a need to be able to attract his shoppers in a language they understand, namely online.

If you build it they will come
Once we sat down and explained the concept of how a website, some eCampaign’s and the use of Social Media all cross linking could benefit the sale of daily/weekly specials along with all other products in store, the picture became clearer. Having previously modernised the identity there was a natural adaptation to all of the necessary online applications.

evolve has helped create a more informed customer
With the launch of the new site Nolan’s have found that their customer base are now better informed on the different specials on offer and furthermore the complete range of products available. The loyality card scheme has gathered a number of new customer email details who now receive the weekly/monthly specials. The social media links inform customers of latest news or time lapse offers. Next is to look at developing a more detailed facebook app that will incorporate redeemable offers.

Emily & Me

Home grown down under! It’s a great feeling when you get to design for somebody on the other side of the world. Not only can we add the Caymen Islands to our list of international clients, but now we also get to add Australia to the list too.

I want to bring a bit of Éire to Oz!
It’s funny when you think about it but old habits, or fashion trends in this case, die hard. We can run to the other side of the world in a quest for warmer climates and the promise of a new lifestyle but we still hold true to where the heart lies. The same goes for our client down under when she recognised the grá of both Ozzies and Paddy’s alike to be able to get a bit of bling from our ‘Northern Hemisphere’ With an element of stock in hand we set about creating a website that had to have a bit of depth when it came to showcasing the jewelery on offer. So, why not buy directly we asked . . . but the answer was in the fact we were looking at the other side of the world and how long it takes to get individual items across. The beauty of Emily & Me is that as the website followers grow the company can hold more stock in hand offering a quicker turn around to its clients.

Hence we continue to be a nation of ‘I want it quicker and faster’

Jonny Be Good …

SEO has a new home!

The newest member to join the ranks of evolve is Jonny O’Malley aka. Steve Austin.

A man barely alive . . . Jonny brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the area of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and his main role will be to enhance our service offering in the online arena. Our intention is to use this added service to enable us to develop a more refined brief before we begin a design project. Another element will be to group websites, ecampaigns and social media so when we apply the foundation rules of SEO we can guarantee more productive results.

RIAI Online eMail Marketing

View RIAI eMail Marketing Campaign

The RIAI is the Regulatory and support body for Architects in Ireland. Since 1839 the RIAI has been committed to upholding the highest standards in architecture and providing impartial and authorative advice and information in issues affecting architects, the built environment and society.

So why evolve?
Good question. Initially we were recommended to the RIAI through the ongoing work we do with Architecture Ireland as they were impressed with how we introduced them to reaching their database of members in a clean structured format. Secondly they wanted to evolve their in-house structure so they became self reliant when it came to the latest news.

Let’s build something
Having initially created this format for Architecture Ireland which followed the clean structured format that architects can relate to. We then set about building a newsletter template for the RIAI that could be sent via a mail server distribution platform which incorporated their identity. This enabled the RIAI monitor their database and adapt to any changes in the market place in a much shorter space of time.

Slimsticks

This is the most recent press campaign we have worked on for Slimsticks. They promote how they can help you loose those calories the natural way.

Challenge
On behalf of our client we needed to prepare the adverts for press so they could be distributed successfully via: QuickCut, Printsure, ADS, FTP or email.

Solution
Our automated solution allows us to profile, optimise and validate the adverts to match the publication(s) we are sending them to. All images are resampled to the correct resolution and the correct profiles and fonts are outlined to omit the risk of a type reflow. Each newspaper generally has its own profile but in addition to this, we have generated our own .icc profiles to match the CMYK FOGRA27 (ISO12647-2:2004) & RGB (1998) press settings. This gives us the extra flexibility to maintain consistency with everything we do.

Outcome
Having also calibrated all of our printers, scanners, large format plotter(s), cameras, monitors and in-house stock used for proofing we can give a 100% guarantee that every advert will be delivered in the correct fashion.
