The Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT) is now in its 25th year. The association was originally set up to promote the study and practice of treasury management in Ireland.
What’s a computer?
Back when the IACT was set up, very few of us knew about the benefits of computers or where they would bring us today. This evolution of time created its own limitations when it came to producing a crest in todays modern printing formats . . . both online and offline. With a board of ten businessmen of mixed views on what a crest should stand for in modern times we had a meaty challenge on our hands to modernise it.
Let’s break it down . . .
To fully understand the old crest we researched what every single element of the crest meant. This required an analysis of the symbolism, colours, motto and the mantling and to be honest it opened up a much greater understanding for symbology across many other platforms within the design arena. Once we understood what each element stood for we applied this as to what it meant to us as a common message and how we would create symbols to match.
It’s like a modern jigsaw
Bringing everything back together was fun and when we showed the board the staged process of how we rebuilt the design to suit modern print formats, even the hard and fast disbelievers agreed the new format worked well.
