IACT Identity

The Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT) is now in its 25th year. The association was originally set up to promote the study and practice of treasury management in Ireland.

What’s a computer?
Back when the IACT was set up, very few of us knew about the benefits of computers or where they would bring us today. This evolution of time created its own limitations when it came to producing a crest in todays modern printing formats . . . both online and offline. With a board of ten businessmen of mixed views on what a crest should stand for in modern times we had a meaty challenge on our hands to modernise it.

Let’s break it down . . .
To fully understand the old crest we researched what every single element of the crest meant. This required an analysis of the symbolism, colours, motto and the mantling and to be honest it opened up a much greater understanding for symbology across many other platforms within the design arena. Once we understood what each element stood for we applied this as to what it meant to us as a common message and how we would create symbols to match.

It’s like a modern jigsaw
Bringing everything back together was fun and when we showed the board the staged process of how we rebuilt the design to suit modern print formats, even the hard and fast disbelievers agreed the new format worked well.

So how do you take a tired old identity and freshen it up!

Icon Sport Management

Icon Sports Management are a dedicated group of professionals looking to bring the young sports stars of today to the top of their professional field with the right guidance, education, and advice. A few household names are already in their stables and on hand for collaboration. We were commissioned by sports management company ICON to create a new identity for this strong team.

Break it down
When you look at any sport you ultimately come to the realisation that something in you takes over that makes you want to be the best. This drive to win is in every individual and through the passage of time these sports people have been granted the accolades to show their achievements. We all know this as first, second and third or gold, silver or bronze. Using this concept we created a logo that merged these three colours of merit. This would then become the colour palette that would be used across printed collateral, signage, uniforms, the website and trophies.

ABK

Your mind doesn’t let it quite roll off the tongue as you automatically think ABC . . . however when it comes to what these guys can create, you can but be impressed with the level of architectural design they turn out.

Having cut ties with the UK office the two partners, Robert and John wanted to liven up the identity and in the process use it as an excuse to inform their database. In true architectural form everything was structured and clinical. We showed the guys the transition from the old identity into the new format along with various application points of how and where it would work. This covered aspects of printed collateral and signage with a rehash of the website to be looked at, at a later date.

D’Arcy Lynch Identity

Is it fair to classify people that work in the finance arena as boring when it comes to tapping into their creative side?

Challenge
D’Arcy Lynch Partners, a finance consultancy, approached us to create a clean credible identity that could hold its own in a large market place.

Solution
We created a full working stationery suite. We also generated updateable templates which were produced alongside a tender folder and website. We organized a photo shoot of the partners and styled all imagery to suit the identity guides.

Outcome
Over the past 18 months since we have produced the initial work the clients business has grown in numbers and along the way gained some very high profile blue chip accounts.

Accountax Identity

Accountax provides the full spectrum of tax services to their business clients. Whether it is the routine completion of a corporate tax return or the restructuring of a large group in advance of a sale, they adopt a practical and co-ordinated approach to their work, with access to the senior team members a key feature.

They requested a clean but distinctive identity that would become the foundation of the company. The key colours chosen were a reflection of the colour scheme that was used through out the offices, printed collateral and on the website.

Irish Academy Network

So how do you overcome the challenge of creating an identity within an identity and still retain the essence of the original brand? Wow there is a mouthful.

Challenge
The Irish Academy of Public Relations found themselves under increasing pressure to host or create a networking event or group that could become the forum for its existing and new younger members. This group would operate in 27 different locations around Ireland. They wanted to retain the essence of the old identity and colouring but as the new target market would be the younger generation the new look had to be dynamic. Easy you might say, but they also wanted the two identities to sit side by side without either of them looking our of place.

Solution
We created a storyboard that brought the client through a process of word association and sample imagery relating to connection and movement. We extended the colour palette to cover the four Irish provinces and we came up with a graphic element that was then combined with the primary font. This was then shown to the client in various sample application points that were later adopted as a suite of stationary.

Outcome
Once launched, the customer base were readily able to identify with the new logo. The seamless integration made it look like it had always been part of the brand.
